A prime example of this integration was the “Biggest Hour for Earth” event held on March 21, 2025, in celebration of KMUTT’s 65th anniversary. Organized by the Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health Management Center, the event featured workshops on energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety. It also included exhibition booths, student innovation showcases, and a symbolic Earth Hour lights-off ceremony. More than just a gesture, the event served as a springboard for cultivating environmentally friendly habits, such as using energy-efficient products and reducing resource consumption, while raising awareness about the importance of sustainability in everyday life.
KMUTT’s sustainability strategy is ambitious and comprehensive. The university has set clear targets, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, reducing net CO2 emissions by 30% from the 2019 baseline, and ensuring that 80% of students and 50% of staff develop the competencies of Sustainability Change Agents. These goals are supported by a robust action plan that includes:
Enhancing energy efficiency and expanding renewable energy use across campus.
Promoting zero waste through recycling, reuse, and circular economy principles.
Fostering community partnerships and supporting projects like the Green School Network and Waste to Zero and
